Christmas is coming... ready or not. I've been looking through knitting patterns to find just the right ones for gifts I'd like to make. I seem to do a lot of planning, but not much knitting! I want to knit socks but I have a hard time getting started. I am going to take the plunge & get going on a felted bag for my daughter-in-law. She loves red.

We went to NE recently. I haven't been there to see family in about 8 years! What was I waiting for? Late October is a great time to go. Fall colors, nice weather. Everything was good. Our primary reason for the visit was to see our dear sister-in-law. I am so thankful for how she is doing with mesothelioma, asbestos cancer. Her attitude is awesome. She's an inspiration to us all. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil. 4:13 Love you, Peg.

The race is almost complete. My team, the Magic 8, has finished. It really was a lot of fun waiting for the box to come to your house & then hurrying to knit the dish rag & send it on to the next knitter.
Check out Emily's blog, www.yarnmiracle.com, to see all about this year's Dish Rag Tag. She is planning to have another one next year.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian family. We have a lot to be thankful for!

More knitting. This backpack was made by my friend, Melissa. She did a great job!

I knitted a felted bag that I gave to my niece, Becky.
She thought it needed a flower.
Now she has one.

I went to Mexico in July and to Canada this past weekend. This map shows were I've been in the US. Cool.

Where I've been...

Had a little birthday yesterday. It started off sunny & fun. (I like to have fun.)
Then I talked to my Sonny Boy. He & his Beautiful Bride were not able to come back into the country after a short visit out. There are documents to file & waiting periods & rules they didn't know anything about. The result is no wedding in Jackson Hole on Sept. 13th.
We were discouraged. After to talking to him this morning, things seem to be working out - differently than planned but still working out.

Happy Monday. I am so thankful to the Lord for my wonderful kids & grandkids. They bring me great joy.

Life has been extremely busy lately. Sonny Boy & his Beautiful Girl have been visiting. It is always a wonderful time when he is home. This time we had the opportunity to meet his Beautiful Girl, soon to be his Loving Bride. She is awesome. So loving, caring & encouraging. I couldn't have picked a better life partner for him.

In other NEWS, The Box has arrived. Dish Rag Tag Box, that is. Jennifer knitted a great dishcloth & sent along purple Sugar & Cream for me to knit the next dishcloth. It was a fun pattern to knit. I had a couple of challenges in getting it done. The box arrived on a work day. Sonny Boy & Beautiful Girl were here, meaning - I was entertaining. Then we spent most of yesterday in Seattle shopping & enjoying the day together. I knitted on the way to Seattle, I knitted sitting at the Pike St Market & I knitted on the way home. I finished the dish cloth & hurried to the post office. The box was mailed to Allison in CA for the next leg of the race. Go, Magic 8!

I don't feel good. Is it allergies or a bug? Felt too crummy to go to work.
I am knitting on a flower whenever the fog in my head clears.
Besides that, the big news here is the HEAT! 90+ is hot for the Seattle area.

I'm on Team 8 for the Dish Rag Tag. Haven't "met" any team members yet, but I expect to soon. Look at yarnmiracle.com to follow the fun.

I've signed up for the new Dish Rag Tag. I was on the winning team last year. It was fun to follow the progress of our box to each person on the team.

Hello August. It's overcast, drizzly & cold. Where is summer? Weather predictions are for a better day tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
This picture is from last Saturday & the "Fun Walk". My sister took the picture. Whatever.

This is my yarn stash. Enough said.

Fun Walk. That's what I did this morning. I think it was 3 miles. It sure felt longer! I was late, so I was 3 minutes behind everyone else. Great!... I hurried, even ran. I don't run anymore (did I ever?). I finally caught up with some of the walkers but then I got competitive. I tried to go faster. It was fun. Hot & sweaty, but still fun. I finished in 48 minutes. Way to go, Gramma.

Every knitter has a stash of yarn. I finally organized mine, sort of. Noro, lace yarn, sock yarn, wool...I love the colors of them all. I haven't knitted much lately. I did finally finish a flower for my neice. I need to felt it & then I can send it to her. I bought some pink lace weight yarn in Mexico. It has a bit of silver in it. Really nice. Maybe there's enough yarn for a shawl. Hope so.

Sunny weather. It's wonderful! Two friends and I spent time yesterday visiting local yarn shops. Awesome yarn, beautiful patterns. I've started a bow tie scarf. I'm using Sugar & Cream yarn to make it. I bought some sock yarn & a book on knitting both socks at the same time. Something new to try.

I was in the ER most of the day yesterday with a dear friend. It was a busy place. Funny how you never remember about all the emergencies of life when you & those you love are healthy & well. My friend had an asthma attack. It really scared me. She was so short of breath. She could barely walk to my car. I am praying for a complete healing for her. She was transferred to a hospital in Seattle. Our local hospital was unable to care for her.

Many thanks to my super computer guru, SLGM, who edited the picture for the header.

You are awesome!

Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to accomplishing much this year.

My snowboarder fell on the last run of the day on Monday. He is to see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to see what he reccommends. He is taking pain medication so he's handling the wait. He has a great nurse (his girl friend) to help him around the house.

I got a great knitted scarf from my Big Girl for Christmas. She surprised me by knitting me something.

Back to work tomorrow.
